Centre raises rate of transport, marketing assistance for agri exporters

In a fillip to exporters of farm solutions having difficulties to bear the burden of greater freight fees, the Centre has improved the prices of guidance less than the transportation and marketing and advertising guidance plan and also incorporated dairy solutions less than its ambit.

“Rates of guidance have been greater, by fifty for each cent for exports by sea and by a hundred for each cent for exports by air less than the revised plan,” according to an formal release.

The Section of Commerce has notified the Revised Transport and Advertising Guidance (TMA) for Specified Agriculture Items Scheme’ for exports effected on or soon after April 1, 2021 up to March 31, 2022, the release pointed out.

In February 2019, the federal government had introduced TMA for Specified Agriculture Items Plan to deliver guidance for the worldwide part of freight, to mitigate disadvantage of greater freight fees confronted by the Indian exporters of agriculture solutions.

The plan was originally relevant for exports involving March 1 2019 and Match 31 2020 and was later on extended by one year.

Dairy solutions, which were not eligible less than the earlier plan, will now get guidance less than the revised plan, the release included.

The Directorate General of International Trade (DGFT) will soon notify the technique for availing guidance less than the revised plan.
