Effects of a Multi-Faceted Education Program on Enrollment, Learning and Gender Equity: Evidence from India

The Sustainable Progress Aims established a triple academic goal: boost access to, good quality of, and gender fairness in schooling. This paper documents the performance of a multifaceted academic method, pursuing these three objectives concurrently. Employing an experiment in 229 schools in rural Rajasthan (India), the review steps the effects of the method on students’ university participation and educational general performance around two several years, when also analyzing heterogeneous impacts across gender and initial finding out potential. It finds that the method enhanced university student enrollment, with the premier effects between girls (7.two per cent in the 1st 12 months, twelve.eight per cent in the second). There were being big finding out gains of .329 common deviations (SDs) in the 1st 12 months and .206 SDs at the conclusion of the second 12 months. The finding out part of the intervention targeted the two boys and girls — boys and girls benefited equally from the method in conditions of examination rating gains.
